Alchemy

Description

Sara Teasdale has inspired countless composers but rarely with such inspiration that moved composer Jacob Narverud in this thrilling take. Driving piano accompaniment underpins a legato and expressive Horn obligato sets up the choir with equally long and legato lines. The music culminates as the horn, soprano descant, long choral lines and the driving piano bring this to a powerful conclusion.
