If the amplifier has no humming when there is nothing plugged in, this is definitely a grounding noise from the guitar. Please up your budget and not buy this amp.The first thing you’ll notice with this amp is that it isn’t loud. If you want to be playing with any other instruments, particularly drums, don’t buy this as it simply doesn’t get loud enough. It’s fine for practice in a quiet place but if your performing, this amp will disappoint. When nothing is playing, their is a low pitched hiss that is noticeable on higher volumes when not playing. When you plug a pair of headphones in, there is just a loud roaring sound that just gets louder as you turn the volume up, it sounds kind of like the ocean as heard from a street near a beach, it’s extremely distracting. When you turn off the amp, there is a ear piercing pop if you have headphones on that is a lot quieter but still present when playing through the speaker on the amp. The sound quality of the aux input isn’t that great but that isn’t much of a problem.
