Azeri Tar

The Azeri tar tool, which we are used to hearing in countries such as Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia, means “wire” in Persian. Modern tar is the most perfect and advanced instrument among Azerbaijani musical instruments according to its technical and dynamic possibilities.
There are 11 strings in Azeri Tar, which is one of Azerbaijan’s own cultures. Azerbaijan tari is played in Turkey. It is widely used in Kars region in our country. Music lovers have also made an analogy for Azeri Tar’s voice.
Covered by a double-walled pouch (pericardium) that surrounds the cattle heart and encompasses the main vessels such as the aorta and vena cava, the Azeri tartar is played by placing it on the chest and appealing directly to the hearts.
The name Azeri Tar can be found in the works of Gatran Tabrizi, Nizami Gencevi, Mehemmed Fuzuli and others, one of the Azerbaijani medieval classics.
