D’Addario Helicore Solo Double Bass F# String, 3/4 Size, Medium at

Description

Full View Full Helicores for all occasionsD’Addario produces three varieties of Helicores for double basses. The Orchestral Strings are responsive when used with a bow, and optimised damping results in a warmer, softer sound when strummed. Helicore Pizzicato Strings are better for jazz playing, with increased sustain while plucked and a darker tone. Hybrids are the best of both worlds having both balanced damping and a longer pizzicato sustain.Varying tensionsHelicores come in multiple tensions, meaning you can ensure your strings are ideal for any instrument or genre. A lighter tension needs less pressure to play, though as a result can’t reach the same volume as other strings. Heavy tensions would require more effort, but can produce more power and projection overall. We would recommend medium tension strings if you are unsure of which to choose, as these provide a suitable “in between”.Ideal constructionSteel wires braided together make up the cable cores of these strings, and add strength while preserving flexibility. All Helicores are nickel-wound and therefore resistant to corrosion, meaning that you can use these strings for longer! The resulting sound is warm and clear. Durable, they’re great for double basses as they can withstand the higher tension from the instrument.SizingUsually the size of your double bass is the type of string that you would need, however if you’re unsure of your instrument’s size then you can double check! D’Addario states the strings’ playing lengths, which you can determine by measuring the length between your bass’ nut at the top of the fingerboard to where the strings meet the bridge.3/4 size:106.0cm(41.75″)1/2 size:97.5cm(38.38″)1/4 size:90.0cm(35.50″)1/8 size:80.5cm(31.75″)1/16 size:71.0cm(28.00″)What’s at gear4music?Helicore OrchestralSets:3/4 set, light 3/4 set, medium 3/4 set, heavy 1/2 set, medium 1/4 set, medium 1/8 set, medium 1/10 set, medium Strings only available individually:3/4 size C (extended E), medium3/4 size B, mediumHelicore HybridSets:3/4 set, light 3/4 set, medium 3/4 set, heavy 1/2 set, medium Strings only available individually:3/4 size C (extended E), medium3/4 size B, mediumHelicore PizzicatoSets:3/4 set, light 3/4 set, medium 3/4 set, heavy Strings only available individually:3/4 size C (extended E), mediumHelicore Solo: 3/4 set, mediumSpecifications:String type: SoloNote: F# Size: 3/4 Vibrating string length: 106cm (41.75″)Core: Stranded steelWinding/plating: NickelTension: Medium – 31.29kg(69lbs)End type: Ball endTailpiece end silk colour: Purple/yellowPeg end silk colour: SilverD’Addario Helicore Solo Double Bass F# String, 3/4 Size, Medium at
