Description

Smooth shiny seed shells with a loud glassy sound. This type of percussion instrument is mostly used in Ibo region of Nigeria. A few different shaker-rattle configurations are available with this seed type including; seeds attached to a wooden stick handle, nylon string loop handle, or attached to a braided fiber belt. The ekpiri seed is about the size of a brazil nut, and as tough. They do not break easily and their sound cuts through other loud instrumentation.
