Description
Founded in 2015 and hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, Electronic Audio Experiments are more than just a pedal manufacturer, they are “an exploration in sound and texture via electronics”.The Electronic Audio Experiments Surveyor is a compact re-interpretation of the Instrument Voicing Preamp (aka IVP), a cult classic and long discontinued rackmount preamp.Featuring a unique, transformer based“Tube Voice” distortion generator, the Surveyor is highly responsive to the frequency content of the input signal. Atwo-band Baxandall EQ is placed before the distortion which is actually the complete opposite to howmost drive pedals work. Itmay seem unorthodox, but byusing this method, the gain can be selectively applied to a specific frequency band. Thisis incredibly useful is you want to boost the treble for that signature clangy sound or boost the bass for a fuzz overload!ControlsLevel – Overall volume, with more than enough range for line level output or to overdrive a tube amplifierGain – Amount of overdrive/saturation equally applied to all frequencies; highly interactive with the Bass and Treble settingsBass – Pre-gain low shelf boost/cut, +/-12dB @ 100HzTreble – Pre-gain high shelf boost/cut, +/-12dB @ 3KHzHi/Lo (switch) – Sets the range of the gain control. In the Lo setting the gain range is -15dB to +12dB, in the Hi setting the gain range is +9dB to +36dB.Specifications:Bypass: Relay switching with true bypassInput impedance @ 1 Khz: 500kΩOutput impedance @ 1 Khz: 2kΩPower: 9V DC, 2.1 mm center negative barrel. The current draw is 75 mA.We recommend a regulated, isolated power supply rated for 100 mA minimum. The PSU input is protected against reverse polarity and over-voltage up to 24V. Our pedals do not accept batteries.Electronic Audio Experiments Surveyor Preamp Pedal
