G. Henle Verlag Variations for Piano and Violoncello Henle Music by Beethoven Edited by Jens Dufner Guitar Center

Description

Revised edition based on new findings contained in the Critical Report of the Beethoven Complete Edition (published in 2008). With few examples on which to model cello and piano pieces, Beethoven launched the cello on its way to newfound independence with his two Op. 5 sonatas. These, together with the three sets of variations, illustrate his enthusiasm for the medium of cello and piano, establishing a true duo. Henle offers two cello parts, one expertly fingered and bowed by David Geringas, and a brilliantly clear piano score. No stone is left unturned in this fastidious edition.–Strings magazine
