Gretsch Guitars Jim Dandy Concert Acoustic Guitar Rex Burst Guitar Center

Description

The Gretsch Jim Dandy Concert acoustic guitar brings a vintage style to the modern musician. With its compact concert body shape and modest 24.75″ scale length, the Jim Dandy Concert strikes a perfect balance of throwback vibe and approachable playability for varied musical settings.

Classic Style Body With a Comfortable Feel

Inspired by historic “Rex” guitars from the 1930s-1950s, the Jim Dandy Concert features a comfortable concert body size reminiscent of classic acoustics. The compact upper and lower bouts offer an intimate feel while the slimmer waist is ideal for smaller hands. Weighing just over 4 pounds, the Jim Dandy Concert is lightweight enough for prolonged practice or performance.

Laminated Basswood Construction Provides Vintage Tone and Durability

The guitar’s X-braced body utilizes laminated basswood construction, delivering a balanced and focused tone with vintage character. The semi-gloss finish not only looks the part but also protects the basswood body from dings and scratches during transport or rowdy jam sessions.

X-Bracing Promotes Resonance and Sustain

X-bracing patterns have been a staple of flat-top acoustics for decades, providing structural integrity while allowing the top to vibrate freely. The Jim Dandy Concert implements X-bracing for balanced resonance across the tonal spectrum, with enough sustain to let notes ring clearly.

Smooth Playability With a Walnut Fingerboard

The Jim Dandy Concert neck is crafted from nato wood and topped with a walnut fingerboard. The walnut offers a smooth feel along the neck, while a nut width of 1.6875″ provides comfortable fretting. Open-gear vintage tuners keep the guitar accurately tuned through extended practice sessions or performances.
