Description
The Martin D-18 acoustic guitar is an iconic dreadnought model now featuring a satin finish, delivering the characteristic bold tone and projection Martin guitars are renowned for. The D-18 Satin has a solid Sitka spruce top with scalloped bracing and mahogany back and sides, yielding a robust low end, articulate mids and shimmering highs. Martin’s modified low oval neck profile and ebony fingerboard provide a comfortable playing experience.
Satin Finish Accentuates Rich Tonewoods
The D-18 Satin showcases the beautiful grain of its tonewoods with a natural satin finish. The satin top, back and sides allow the spruce and mahogany to resonate freely, enhancing the guitar’s acoustic properties. The result is a full, balanced tone with impressive volume and clarity.
Scalloped Bracing Boosts Tonal Complexity
Martin’s signature scalloped “X” bracing brings out the nuances of the D-18 Satin’s tonewoods. The scalloped bracing produces a more flexible soundboard, increasing resonance and overtone development. Notes ring out with a three-dimensional quality, sustaining with rich harmonics.
Playability and Appointments of a Legend
The D-18 Satin features a 25.4″ scale length, 1.75″ nut width and 20 frets for familiar dreadnought dimensions. An ebony bridge and fingerboard provide crisp note articulation. Open-gear tuners, a tortoise pickguard and multi-stripe rosette complete the vintage-inspired esthetic. Includes a hardshell case.
