Narrowfield Pickup for Focused, Powerful Tone
At the heart of this guitar is PRSs innovative Narrowfield pickup, designed to capture the essence of a single-coil with the full-bodied sound of a humbuckerwithout the hum. Introduced in 2010 for PRSs 25th anniversary, the Narrowfield pickup captures a more focused section of the guitars strings, resulting in a tone that is punchy, clear and full. The staggered design ensures even volume across all strings, delivering balance and articulation for any playing style. Paired with two PRS 58/15 LT humbuckers, the Narrowfield pickup gives you a tonal palette that covers everything from shimmering cleans to growling leads.
Versatile Switching for a Broad Tonal Palette
The Special semi-hollow features a 5-way blade switch and two mini-toggles to tap the humbuckers, providing an incredible twelve pickup combinations. This flexibility allows players to explore a broad range of soundsfrom smooth jazz tones to high-gain rock, and everything in between. The semi-hollowbody with a single f-hole adds a beautiful resonance and airiness to the guitars tone, giving it added depth and warmth that shines in both clean and overdriven settings.
Precision Craftsmanship for Maximum Playability
Constructed with a 25 scale length, 22-fret mahogany neck, and ebony fretboard, the PRS Special semi-hollow offers the perfect balance of precision and comfort. The 10″14″ compound radius ensures effortless playability across the fretboard, making it easy to perform complex chord voicings or intricate lead work.
